1. Who we are
Invisible Threads Dance (“we”, “us”) provides dance and fitness classes, workshops and parties for nurseries, schools, adults and community groups. We are based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. For anything to do with your personal data you can contact Hannah at hannah@invisible-threads.co.uk or on 07597 959937.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we look after it and what your rights are. It applies to visitors to invisible-threads.co.uk and to anyone who contacts us through the forms on it. Our use of cookies is explained separately in our Cookie Policy.
3. The information we collect
Enquiries and bookings. When you use the class enquiry or dance party booking forms we collect your name, email address, your message and, where you give them, the name of the school, nursery or organisation, the type of party and the dates you are interested in. Sometimes a message will include a child’s name, age or school.
Job applications. When you use the Join Us form we collect your name, email address, telephone number, location, how far you are willing to travel, whether you hold an enhanced DBS, a safeguarding certificate and a first aid certificate, your covering letter and your CV.
Website use. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular and how people found us. This information is collected in a way that does not identify you, and only once you have accepted statistics cookies.
Spam protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a submission is made by a person rather than an automated program. reCAPTCHA may collect your IP address and information about your browser.
We do not collect payment card details through this website.
4. Why we use your information and our lawful basis
We use enquiry and booking details to reply to you, to arrange and run classes, workshops and parties, and to keep in touch about the services you have asked about. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
We use job application details to consider you for teaching work with us and, if you join the team, to meet our safeguarding and safer recruitment obligations. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary before entering into a contract with you and, for safeguarding information, our legal obligations and substantial public interest in protecting children and vulnerable adults.
We use website statistics to improve the site. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to keep you updated.
5. Who we share it with
Your information is seen by Hannah and, where needed to run a class, by the teacher delivering it. We also rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: our website host, our email provider, Google (for Analytics and reCAPTCHA) and, when it is needed to arrange a class, the school, nursery or venue involved. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Some of these providers, including Google, may process data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the provider’s equivalent safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
Form submissions are stored on the website and in our email. We keep enquiry and booking messages for up to two years after our last contact with you, so that we can follow up and answer questions about a booking. We keep job applications for six months after the role is filled, unless you join the team, in which case your details become part of your staff record. Website statistics are kept for 14 months. We delete or anonymise information once it is no longer needed.
7. Keeping it safe
The website is protected by HTTPS and the contact forms are protected against spam. Access to the website and to form submissions is limited to people who need it and protected by passwords.
8. Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to stop or limit how we use your information;
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email hannah@invisible-threads.co.uk. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our classes are for children as well as adults, but our website forms are intended to be completed by parents, guardians, teachers and organisers rather than by children. If you believe a child has sent us their details directly, please let us know and we will remove them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
